To celebrate the life of John ‘Jack’ Feeney, 'The Mayo Nightingale', an evening of story and song will be presented by Mayo County Council’s Arts Service and Ballina Municipal District in Swinford Cultural Centre on Friday, September 23.

Claremorris Leisure Centre raises €5k for Cancer Care West

During the summer Claremorris Leisure Centre held its annual swimathon in aid of Cancer Care West. All proceeds raised from this event went directly to the charity. Cancer Care West provides support to cancer patients and their families from all over the west of Ireland. All of Cancer Care West’s services are provided at no cost to patients and their families, so it relies greatly on charitable fundraising and donations to meet the cost and demand of these services.

The Children’s Remembrance Day Committee at University Hospital Galway (UHG) celebrated the launch of their Christmas tree lights last week. In December a giant Christmas tree will be on display at the entrance to UHG and people can sponsor a light on the tree as a dedication to a loved one.
